The Travertine Wall Lamp is a minimalist sconce built from solid wood and stone, designed for a hallway or a living room where it has to look considered and still survive daily use. The colourway is deliberately neutral so the rest of the room can change around it.
Real travertine, quarried and cut
The stone is real travertine, quarried and cut rather than moulded, so its surface carries the variation the material actually has. Materials are left to read as themselves here instead of being dressed up as something else.
A stone diffused glow, almost no glare
Light passes through and around the stone, which gives a diffused glow with almost no glare. That is what makes it usable in a hallway at night or beside a bed, where a harder source would simply be switched off.
Warm timber and honest joinery
The timber mount is warm and the joinery is honest, with edges and joints properly finished, usually the first thing cut on a cheaper sconce. The stone sits flush into its timber mount so the sconce reads as one piece rather than two, and there is no visible branding on it.

The Stone Itself Is The Shade
